On Tuesday afternoon we arrived back at London's Paddington Station ready for two more days in the city. We easily found our hotel (we had a map this time) nestled among the beautiful trees along the edge of Hyde Park. We stayed in a fantastic hotel, which was very grand in both decor and size.
When we arrived our room wasn't ready yet. They stored our luggage and we ventured out to enjoy pints and food at the neighboring pub. Upon our arrival back at the hotel, we were told we had been upgraded for our anniversary celebration...and we soon discovered that our room was in fact a lovely (palatial) suite with incredible views.
Once settled in, we hit the streets to explore the city. Starting in Hyde Park we walked all over London; soaking in every landmark and breathtaking view.

Yes, in the picture below David caught me trying to decide which of these gorgeous french pastries from Patisserie Valerie I would need to bring back to our hotel for dessert. I decided on the white/dark chocolate mousse--which was a great life choice!
After enjoying a wonderful meal at a small (family owned) Indian restaurant, we walked back to our hotel where I proceeded to devour my mousse, (topped with the fresh raspberries from the Moreton-in-Marsh fruit stand)...in our room's brass claw-foot bathtub...and it was simply a heavenly end to a heavenly day.
The next day we boarded a plane to Copenhagen, Denmark.
We knew that our trip could not get any more wonderful when we saw our long time friends, James and Mary (from Eugene!) in the Copenhagen airport.
England was amazing and Denmark was off to a great start!
