PCS WEEK

On Monday morning the packers showed up. An older man and woman arrived on our doorstep stocked with tape, boxes, and Dr.Pepper. We looked at them and we looked at each other...skeptically.  We parked Mac in the backyard with a bone, and walked them through the house to show them what piles needed to stay untouched--so we could sleep here for another week.

We just kept asking each other, "How are two people going to pack our entire life in boxes, in just one day?"We were very surprised that by lunch they were more than halfway finished. Steven and Sharri had done this a few times before, we were told!

As the packers quickly boxed up our home David, Mac and I sought refuge with the laptop and couch in the office. Every so often popping into a room to keep tabs on what was happening and to keep up with my well devised sticker system to make it easier when we unpack....I put a neon sticker coordinating to the room the stuff needs to go to when it gets to Vegas. That way it is easy to see from far away--what room to tell them to put things in.

Mac did an amazing job practicing his skills he learned at bootcamp--laying on his bed and "staying" there until we let him up.  Truly, not short of a miracle, that only RW Training Kennels is responsible for.
On Wednesday the movers came and hauled everything out to a big truck. David and I spent our day checking on things and making sure the four young guys didn't destroy the house as they wrapped and schlepped our furniture and the many boxes.
All and all it was a very painless two days (we won't count the one small meltdown each of us had at various points during the week before).  We are truly praying (and welcome your prayers too) that the receiving of our household goods goes just as smoothly!
