COPENHAGEN

We arrived in Copenhagen on Wednesday evening and were cheerfully greeted by Allan at the airport. Fueled by our relaxing and energizing days spent in England, we could not wait to spend five days with our dearest friends.  David and I stayed in an apartment in a very posh area of the city, with our friends Brie and Scott.  The first night Jen prepared a gorgeous spread for dinner at our apartment and we had such a lovely night getting to know the other Americans (friends of Jen's from Kennewick) and catching up with our favorite Danes.
On Thursday morning, the boys got up and headed out with Allan to play golf while the girls got together with Jen for brunch and some lingerie gift giving.  We were so blessed by Jen, who then took us to choose vintage hats to wear to her wedding.
Brie and I loved every moment of sharing an apartment together (which we did back in college).  Spending time with Brie and Scott, getting to drink coffee on our little patio and chat together late into the evenings was truly a highlight of our European adventure.
On Thursday night the boys went with Allan to Carlsberg Brewery and then to "all you can eat pork" at a restaurant that serves a Danish delicacy...deep fried bacon.  It was really wonderful when we met up with the boys later in the evening and heard all about their love affair with meat...kebabs, bacon, salted pork fat...you name it...they ate it!

The girls got together and walked to one of the parks in the city, where Jen's Copenhagen friends were ready and waiting.  They created the most magical bachelorette party and we all shared a wonderful time of laughter, celebration, and campaign...all to celebrate the most kind, caring, funny and fantastic human we know, being a bride!
Friday morning we all arrived at the venue to set up.  The location was perfect and there may have been a moment when I cried--it was just that perfect of a space for this very special celebration of love.
From the set-up, the girls went to Jen's work.  Jen made her own wedding cakes.  Yes, from scratch.  Yes, there were plural!  She is amazing.  We had the joy and the privilege of assisting in the frosting of the cakes.  All of the cakes tasted amazing and it was just such a pleasure to be able to share in the preparations of Jen and Allan's big day.
Jen and Allan worked so hard to make every moment of our Copenhagen trip perfect.  They were so detailed, so planned, and so helpful to all of us leading up to their big day!  By Friday night, they were exhausted and we were all a little hungry--so we parted ways and when Brie, Scott, David and I went in search of dinner in our neighborhood...we found pizza.  It. was. heaven. The perfect ending to the day, we grabbed our pizza and some hard ciders from the neighborhood 7-11 and headed back to our apartment to crash so that we would all be ready for the celebration the following day!
Stay tuned for pics from...Urban Vintage...an epic Copenhagen wedding!
